I actually finished this about a week ago, but it's taken me this long to get around to writing up my thoughts on it because I don't know what to make of it. It's one of the most famous books in literature for all the wrong reasons. It's also unintentionally hilarious at times and quite often of extreme what the fuckness. It also contains a liberal use of the C word, so if you're offended by that, probably best not to bother carrying on because I will be using it too.

I am reading a lot at the moment as work is pretty quiet and there is nothing better to do so I thought I'd turn this blog into a literary review one once in a while. There may even be gifs, I haven't decided yet.
This review will contain spoilers for the plot of Madame Bovary, if you do not know what happens and do not wish to be spoiled do not read! If you have a pretty good idea what happens in 19th century sensationalist fiction you might as well read on because, well, you're dead right. They are conventions for a reason dammit.

Control Chaos

It is Newsea's 'Rachel' hair and I used Remi's Maxis Match hair textures that were really made for TS2, but hey. Won't be up for download or anything until I figure out what to do with the control map. I know what it does but I can't work out how to make my own. So that could take a while unless someone tells me what to do in words even I could understand!

I thought my eventual entrant to the challenge, Amelia, and her mum, Tamsin, were rather pretty, so I extracted them from the game and got rid of any trace of Zhulh genes.

But the mapping on that hair is just something else. I have an sneaking suspicion she does it on purpose, and if this is true then with this hair she has reached the peak of her fiendish mapping career.

I like what it says about the other houses, Slytherins have " a long house tradition of doing whatever it takes to win – so watch out, especially in Quidditch matches and exams"; Gryyfindors " tend to be show-offs", and Hufflepuffs, "well, nobody could say they’re not nice people. In fact, they’re some of the nicest people in the school. Let’s just say you needn’t worry too much about them when it comes to competition at exam time." Which I suppose is a little condescending and kind of makes me imagine them sat around the Hufflepuff common room playing with the safety scissors and glitter because they're not allowed to do any real spells. Awkward Advertisment Type Post
Sep. 3rd, 2011 01:36 pmI am only going to do this once, because I don't really want to turn this blog into an advertising service, but what the hell, I only just started it and I need the publicity. I have made an Etsy! A product of boredom, need for money and remembering that I am actually quite good at something crafty, I present to you Fainiel's Friendship bracelets and my Harry Potter inspired bracelets.
Currently they are my only item for sale, but I hope to offer more soon. These are made to order, but I'm thinking of making some other designs that are for sale as seen, I just don't have the thread right now (though some is on the way, I bulk bought. Hurray for Etsy!). I saw an amazing pattern for a Space Invaders bracelet the other day, I am itching to try that one out!

Let's imagine I was thinking of getting a Sims 3 expansion pack. Actually, let's stop imagining, I am thinking of getting a Sims 3 expansion pack, I just don't know which. I was thinking Ambitions because I would very much like to get my hands on the Investigator career track for, uhm, reasons that I have, but I can afford two right at this moment, so which other one would be a good idea to get? I quite like the look of Generations, but then I also like the look of Late Night. World Adventures is a bit 'meh' from where I'm sat because I never really played the vacation 'hoods in TS1 or 2.
